Arthroscopic Shoulder Stabilization
Minimally-Invasive Shoulder Repair
The shoulder is the least-stable of the joint structures due to the structure
of the bones. What keeps the shoulder stable is the network of surrounding
soft tissues, such as the ligaments, tendons, and the cartilage—specifically
a rim called the labrum. These can all be damaged due to athletic activity,
overuse, or osteoarthritis, the most common joint-inflammation disease.
When these are damaged, stabilizing the shoulder may require surgery. However,
open surgery is not the only option—our physicians offer arthroscopic
surgery. Arthroscopic surgery allows doctors to view and repair the shoulder
capsule and surrounding tissue through small, easy-to-heal incisions.
